1001–1003 — Job Change to Acolyte

1001 = Father Rubalkabara, 1002 = Mother Mathilda, 1003 = Father Yosuke. Completed when Mareusis promotes you.

1. Talk to Father Mareusis in prt_church (184, 41) and choose "Father, I want to be an Acolyte."
2. Confirm that you wish to become a servant of God. He randomly assigns one of three penance destinations.
3. You must have NV_BASIC 9 before he will promote you on return, but you can start the journey earlier.

1. Father Rubalkabara (job_acolyte_q = 2, quest 1001): prt_fild03 365, 255 — ruins northeast of Prontera. Talk to him to set job_acolyte_q = 6 and a save point at 361, 255.
2. Mother Mathilda (job_acolyte_q = 3, quest 1002): moc_fild07 41, 355 — north of Morroc. Talk to her to set job_acolyte_q = 7 and a save point at 35, 355.
3. Father Yosuke (job_acolyte_q = 4, quest 1003): prt_fild00 208, 218 — bridge northwest of Prontera. Talk to him to set job_acolyte_q = 8 and a save point at 206, 230.
4. Visiting the wrong cleric does nothing — they will say your name is not on their list. Go back to Mareusis if you forget the destination.

1. Return to Father Mareusis once job_acolyte_q is 6, 7, or 8 and you have NV_BASIC 9.
2. He changes your job to Acolyte and completes quest 1001, 1002, or 1003.

• The three destinations are dangerous for a fresh Novice — bring potions and expect aggressive field monsters.
• Each cleric sets a nearby save point when they confirm your visit.
• High Novice characters whose advanced job is High Priest or Champion skip the penance trial and change to High Acolyte immediately if NV_BASIC is 9.
