Join the Al De Baran Alchemist Union: pay Parmy's fee, sit through Raspuchin's interview, mix with Darwin, quiz with Van Helmont, then graduate with Vincent. on ClassicRO.
Requirements
- Must be a Merchant with Job Level 40 or higher.
- Use all First Job skill points before talking to Vincent.
- Pay 50,000 zeny plus a random item set, or skip the items with Old Magic Book + Hammer of Blacksmith.
- Pass Raspuchin's interview, Darwin's mixing lesson, and Van Helmont's alchemy quiz.

- Enter the Alchemist Union in Al De Baran (alde_alche) and talk to Parmy Gianino (27, 185).
- Pay 50,000 zeny. She then assigns one random item set: 7 Berserk Potions, 100 Portable Furnaces, or 7,500 Fire Arrows.
- Old Magic Book + Hammer of Blacksmith substitutes for the item set (you still pay 50,000 zeny).
- She sends you to Raspuchin Gregory for an interview.
Raspuchin Gregory — Interview
- Talk to Raspuchin Gregory at alde_alche 175, 107.
- Answer his personality questions. Stay humble, do not admit to stealing research, and show interest in alchemy rather than money alone.
- On pass he sends you to Darwin for a practical mixing lesson.
Darwin — Mixing Lesson
- Find Darwin at alde_alche 13, 15. Bring 3 Medicine Bowls, 3 Empty Bottles, 1 Red Herb, 1 Yellow Herb, and 1 White Herb.
- Follow the procedure exactly: prepare the Medicine Bowl, put herbs in, crush the herbs, pour clean water, then mix. Wrong choices add fail points.
- Success yields a Red, Yellow, and White Potion and sends you to Van Helmont.
Van Helmont — Alchemy Quiz
- Talk to Van Helmont at alde_alche 79, 19.
- He quizzes you on Counteragent and Mixture. Correct pairing: Counteragent is made with Karvodailnirol; Mixture is made with Detrimindexta.
- On pass, go to Master Vincent Carsciallo.
Vincent Carsciallo — Job Change
- Talk to Vincent at alde_alche 101, 184. Spend leftover skill points first.
- He changes your job to Alchemist.
- Job Level 50: Slim Potion Creation Book. Otherwise a random creation book (Alcohol, Fire Bottle, Acid, Plant, Mine, or Potion).
- Nicholas Flamel (145, 19) is optional reading after you are an Alchemist.
Union Fee Items
50,000 zeny plus one random set. Old Magic Book + Hammer of Blacksmith skips the items.
